god’s plan to save mankind
ALL MANKIND IS HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR THEIR BELIEF, OR NON BELIEF, IN THE PERSON OF CHRIST AND HIS DEATH, BURIAL, AND RESURRECTION AND OUR RESPONSE TO HIM.
His resurrection proved that Jesus is Who He said He was, the Son of God.
His promises in His Word (the Bible) can be trusted.
ALL MANKIND IS BORN IN SIN, WITHOUT GOD
Psalm 51:5 “Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.”
Romans 3:23 "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God."
WHERE DID SIN COME FROM?
God created mankind to love Him and to have fellowship with Him. He gave Adam and Eve the freedom to choose to love and obey Him, or not. They chose to disobey God and sought to be as wise as God by knowing what evil was.
RESULT: Separation from God; Sin and Death entered the scene, all of humanity was cursed.
Romans 5:12 "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; ...for that all have sinned:"
THERE MUST BE A PAYMENT FOR SIN
Romans 6:23a "For the wages of sin is death."
GOD REQUIRES A SINNLESS BLOOD SACRIFICE TO TAKE AWAY ALL OUR SIN
Hebrews 9:22 "...without shedding of blood is no remission." (forgiveness)
1 John 1:7 "...and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanseth us from all sin."
WHAT IS GOD'S PLAN? JESUS MUST PAY OUR SIN DEBT that we could never pay
John 3:17 “For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.”
Isaiah 43:11, 25 “I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no savior. I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember they sins.”
2 Corinthians 5:18-19, 21 “And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; For he (God) hath made him (Jesus) to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him (Jesus).
Titus 3:5 "Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us."
WE MUST BE BORN AGAIN "SPIRITUALLY." JOHN 3:3-18
John 3:5 “Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water (our earthly body) and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.”
Mark 1:15 "The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel."
Repent means to change our thinking for the better.
Believe the Bible to be truth and not manmade opinions or traditions.
TURN FROM salvation in; good works, church membership and infant/adult baptism
TURN TO- faith in the finished work/sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross Who is now in heaven
Put all of our Faith in the complete sin cleansing work of Jesus Christ on the cross, and in His raising from the dead on the 3rd day.
John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
Ephesians 2:4-5, 8-9 “But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”
3. RECEIVE Receive His gift of Salvation
A gift isn't something we EARN. It is freely given by someone else.
However, it is NOT OURS until we accept it.
Romans 6:23b "but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."
1 John 5:13 “These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.”
Satan says we don't need Jesus' help
Lie #1 If our good works outweigh our bad works we will go to heaven
Lie #2 If we are a church member in good standing, we will go to heaven
Lie #3 If we were baptized as an infant, or as an adult as a means to attain salvation we will go to heaven (all babies and children who have never understood salvation in the Bible are not held accountable for not understanding, rejecting or for not receiving Christ as their Savior). 2 Samuel 12:23
PROBLEM: According to the Word of God and His saving plan for mankind, none of these actions will forgive nor cleanse our sin away.
John 3:18 "he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God."
Hebrews 10:11-12 “And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins: But this man, (Jesus) after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God.”
GOD'S SON GAVE EVERYTHING TO BE OUR SAVIOR
Romans 5:8 "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."
RECEIVE HIM NOW THROUGH SINCERE PRAYER
Romans 10:9 "That if though wilt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved."
Dear Jesus, I now know that I am a filthy sinner in need of Your mercy and grace. I believe You shed Your precious blood, and that You died, to pay for and to cleanse me of all my sin. And that three days later You rose from the dead proving Your victory over death, hell, and sin. Please forgive me of all my sins. All of my HOPE for salvation, and TRUST for salvation, is in You alone, Jesus. Thank you for the gift of eternal life. Amen
Revelation 22:17 "And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely."
