I was raised in a faith that taught man's good works SHOULD get him to heaven, but this never gave me comfort. Before joining the Army, I told myself that I would seek what other Christian faiths were teaching. After completion of Basic Army Training, I attended Advanced Individual Training in Virginia Beach, Virginia. It was there that a van ministry took me to a local church, where I heard the truth of the Gospel. I realized, through Scripture, that I was a sinner in need of a Savior. In May of 1984, I asked Jesus to be my Lord and Savior, and was gloriously born again! Now I know that I am saved by grace through faith in the precious sin-cleansing blood of Jesus Christ, and that His righteousness is now my righteousness. He promised He would never leave me nor forsake me, and that one day I will see Jesus face to face, and be with Him forever and ever.  Jn 1:12, Jn 10:28-29, Phil 3:9, 1 Jn 1:7

I had the great privilege of coming to know Jesus Christ as my Savior when I was only seven years old! At that time we attended a small church, and on that particular Sunday the Pastor really had my attention. I can’t tell you the text he used, but he preached a salvation message, and I knew he was talking to me and about me! My conviction was very real. Even at the tender age of seven, I understood that I was a sinner, and that there was nothing I could ever do to be "good enough" to earn my salvation. I needed the salvation gift that Jesus Christ provided for me! (John 14:6; John 3:16) When the invitation was given I went forward, and my Sunday School teacher talked with me, and led me in a simple prayer. From that moment on my life was forever changed! I was baptized by immersion the following year, and I believe the Lord also spoke to my heart early on in life about surrendering to missions as well.

"Thank you for all you have done. It brings us closer to Christ and has taught us and given us new resources to spread the Word of God. Keep doing what you are doing. I am so grateful for the time you dedicate to us Soldiers."

"This ministry has been the highlight of my week. I feel your energy and this environment you've set up helps so much. I feel blessed to be a part of this ministry even if it was for a few weeks. Coming here kept me accountable for my actions as a Christian. Thank you so much!!"

"Thank you so much for taking time out of your life and coming here to speak with us for the past 12 weeks. You are amazing people. I'm glad God brought you to us! Take care and have a great life."
